CCIT · INNOVATING WITH CODE

Welcome to the Coding Club

We are a community of curious minds who research, explore, and build in ML, AI, data science, computational science, and coding. From learning new skills to turning ideas into projects, we experiment, collaborate, and solve problems together. Whether you are just taking your first steps into coding or already building sophisticated systems, join us as we learn, experiment, collaborate, and turn ideas into reality.

Focus areas

Core areas are where most club projects land. The rest come up often enough that there is usually someone around who knows them.

CORE Machine learning Systems that learn from data and adapt as it changes.
CORE Python Our default language for data science, AI and automation.
CORE Artificial intelligence Systems that reason about problems rather than follow fixed rules.
CORE Scientific computing Computational methods applied to research across campus.
AUX Web development Modern, responsive web applications, this site included.
CORE Data science Pulling patterns and insight out of messy datasets.
AUX Large language models Working with language AI and natural language processing.
CORE Deep learning Neural networks for problems that resist simpler methods.

Checklist

The things people ask before joining.

The membership form is closed for now. When it reopens it goes back on this page, and it is announced on WhatsApp and Instagram first — we take students from every background and skill level.

Volunteer recruitment is open, though, and it is the quickest way in: join the crew on WhatsApp and you are part of what the club runs from day one.

Passion projects are a separate thing and stay open: anyone can propose a project or run an event under the club, member or not.

No. Members range from complete beginners to people who have been writing code for years. We run workshops and pair newer members with mentors, so starting from zero is normal here.

Python for most data science and AI work, JavaScript for anything on the web, and whatever else a project needs. We pick the language to fit the problem rather than the other way round.

General meetings run roughly every two weeks, with project teams meeting more often as they need to. Workshops, hackathons and one-off events are announced on our channels through the year.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Bring the idea to a meeting or send it to any club officer. If it has legs, we will find you collaborators, mentorship and whatever resources it needs.
